Jon Osler is a chemistry graduate of the University of St Andrews. He received his PhD from the University of York, for his work on the Cope rearrangement with Professor Richard Taylor. Jon’s research has been published in a number of leading international journals.
Following teacher training in Barcelona, he spent a year teaching English in Moscow. He has written several articles on Russia, which elucidate cultural highlights as perceived by An Englishman in Russia.
He is currently living in Paris, where he teaches chemistry at the University of Paris and at the Ecole Jeannine Manuel. He is writing articles which aim to explain important scientific concepts, such as the second law of thermodynamics and the atomic hypothesis, to a non-scientific audience.
